U.S. rhythmic gymnasts will take over Europe this week as they head to several international competitions.
Rin Keys (Porter Ranch, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) will be joined by Sarah Mariotti (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) and Pacific Rim Championships junior medalists Isabella Chong (Mission Viejo, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics), Dawn Kim (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) and Natalia de la Rosa (Woodland Hills, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) at the 2024 Gdynia Rhythmic Stars tournament May 3-5 in Gdynia, Poland.
Competition will kick off Friday, May 3 with junior hoop and ball qualifications at 7:45 a.m. ET, followed by seniors at 11:40 a.m. ET. Clubs and ribbon qualifications start Saturday’s slate with juniors at 8:15 a.m. ET and seniors at 12:10 p.m. ET. Finals are set for Sunday, May 5 beginning at 4:45 a.m. ET. Alexandria Kautzman (Simi Valley, Calif./California Rhythms) will represent the U.S. at the 2024 European Cup May 3-5 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Individual qualifications will take place on Friday, May 3 beginning at 1 a.m. ET followed by an all-around cross battle on Saturday at 4 a.m. ET. The top 16 athletes will qualify to the all-around cross battle where eight athletes will go head-to-head on ball and eight on hoop to advance to the quarterfinal. The winners will then switch apparatus and compete for a spot in the all-around final. Finalists will perform on ribbon for a medal. All apparatus awards will be determined on Sunday beginning at 2:05 a.m. ET.

Seniors Jaelyn Chin (Aventura, Fla./Bessonova’s school), Lauren Kramer (San Diego, Calif./Pacific Stars Rhythmic Academy) and Yana Golovan (Las Vegas, Nev./Nevada Rhythmic Academy) and juniors Anastasia Dubinkina (Staten Island, N.Y./Isadora by Matchpoint), Aleksia Khilkevich (Staten Island, N.Y./Isadora by Matchpoint) and Aurora Sullivan (Los Angeles, Calif./Burlo Gymnastics) will be in Portugal from May 4-6 for the 31st Portimão International Tournament.
Hoop and ball qualifications are set for Saturday, May 4, followed by the clubs and ribbon qualifying rounds on Sunday. Monday, May 6 will see all finals. More information, including a full schedule, is expected to be available soon on the Portuguese Gymnastics Federation’s event website.
