GUIMARAES, Portugal (September 14, 2024) – Six more U.S. pairs and groups advanced to Sunday’s final rounds during competition Saturday at the 2024 Acro World Age Group Competitions.
Four of those final berths came from the 13-19 division, with Americans taking three top qualifying spots. The men’s pair of Yaroslav and Vsevolod Ossolodkov (Beaumont, Calif./Incentive – AGT) and mixed pair of Hailee Wong (Colton, Calif./Realis Gymnastics Academy) and Andrew Castro (Riverside, Calif./Realis Gymnastics Academy) secured their places in their respective all-around finals by topping the qualification charts. The Ossolodkovs scored a 56.450 in to qualify in first, while Wong and Castro did the same with a score of 55.500.
Also advancing to their all-around final in first was the 13-19 women’s pair of Sydney Padios (Moreno Valley, Calif./Incentive – AGT) and Willow Noble (Moreno Valley, Calif./Incentive – AGT), who put up a 54.700. The women’s group of Lily Eisenberg (Bethesda, Md.), Cate Lacy (Columbia, Md.) and Cecelia Shadrick (Ellicott City, Md.) of Emilia’s Acro Gymnastics and Cheer qualified in third with a 55.600.
In the 12-18 age group, the men’s pair of Radomir Ossolodkov (Beaumont, Calif./Incentive – AGT) and Neko Sullivan (Perris, Calif./Incentive – AGT) qualified second (54.800), and the women’s duo of Maya Lissenkova (Las Vegas, Nev./AGC Las Vegas) and Bernice Moshos (Las Vegas, Nev./AGC Las Vegas) landed seventh with a 53.260 to move onto final competition.
After Saturday’s qualifications, the women’s pair of Emma Oregel (San Antonio, Texas/Acrobatic Gymnastics of San Antonio) and Giana Johnson (San Antonio, Texas/ Acrobatic Gymnastics of San Antonio) placed 12th all-around with a 52.150. The women’s group of Phylisha Pham (San Jose, Calif./Aerial Tumbling and AcroGymnastics), Kaylee Osorio (San Jose, Calif./Aerial Tumbling and AcroGymnastics) and Alison Lam (Gilroy, Calif./Aerial Tumbling and AcroGymnastics) were 17th in their division with a 52.970
Finals begin at 5 a.m. ET on Sunday and final placements in the World Age Group Competitions determine which athletes are eligible to compete for a FIG Junior World Championships title.
