PARIS, France (August 8, 2024) – In her second appearance on the Olympic stage and competing as the first athlete up on all four apparatus, Evita Griskenas (Orland Park, Ill.) placed 18th in rhythmic gymnastics all-around qualifications Thursday at Port de la Chappelle Arena.

The 2023 Pan American Games silver medalist opened the session by posting a score of 30.500 on hoop in the very first performance of the day. She followed up with 31.200 on ball, 27.550 on clubs and 29.250 on ribbon for a total of 118.500. A May 2024 graduate of Columbia University, Griskenas spent the first two months of the year in a boot recovering from injury. She then returned for her second consecutive Olympic appearance, posting a top-20 finish in the all-around.

The top three qualifiers on the day were Sofia Raffaeli of Italy in first (139.100), Darja Varfolomeev of Germany in second (136.850) and Boryana Kaleyn of Bulgaria in third (136.450). The top 10 gymnasts in qualifications advanced to Friday’s all-around final.
